REAWAKENING
Pieces from "REAWAKENING", a group show curated by Kate Missett.
Kingborough Community College, Brooklyn, NY, 2013
I was invited to make work for a show titled “Reawakening”, and though images of spring lambs in nascent fields gamboled through my head, they had naught to do with my experience. With this opportunity representing a “reawakening” of making large sculptural forms after a fallow period, I found myself deeply relishing the return to the complications that emerge from scale and nuance, requiring on-the-go problem solving. Often I build tools and household objects. For this show, I chose items that collude in my literal re-awakening, in the sense of things that keep me up at night.
